Activated Alumina (F200)

Activated Alumina is a very porous form of aluminum oxide of high surface area which adsorbs liquids and gases without any change in form. Activated Aluminas will not soften or disintegrate when immersed in liquids. Activated Alumina may be regenerated to its original adsorption efficiency by heating to a temperature between 350-600° F (177-316° C).

Applications:
Although the 1 / 4" size is an excellent general purpose, low pressure drop adsorbent, the 3 / 16" size provides a higher adsorptive capacity with only a slight increase in pressure drop. The 1/8" size is recommended for use in liquid dehydration and other mass transfer limited adsorption applications. The higher dynamic adsorption capacity of 1/8" spheres is due to its higher surface area and short diffusion path.
